Privacy Policy

This policy covers this website, mauruskuehne.ch (and www.mauruskuehne.ch). It is run by Maurus Kühne, a private individual in Switzerland, who is responsible for the processing described here. In short: I do not collect any personal data myself. There are no accounts, no forms, no newsletter and no analytics. The site shows ads from Google AdSense, and Google processes some data to do that, as described below.

Hosting (Cloudflare)

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data with the request, such as your IP address, the page requested, your browser and operating system (user agent), your language settings and the referring page. Cloudflare processes this to deliver the site and to protect it from attacks and abuse, and may keep it in short-lived logs. I do not use this data to identify you. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site uses Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited (for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) and Google LLC (elsewhere), to show ads. When a page with ads loads, your browser connects directly to Google’s servers. Google and its advertising partners may then use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) and collect:

• your IP address and the approximate location derived from it
• device and browser information, such as browser type, operating system, screen size and language
• the page you are viewing and the page that referred you
• cookie and device identifiers
• ad interactions, such as impressions and clicks

Google uses this to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, and detect fraud and abuse. If you agree, it is also used to personalise ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google may also let other certified ad networks show ads here; they may set their own cookies.

Google acts as an independent controller of this data. I do not receive it; I only see aggregated reports, such as how many ads were shown and how much they earned. Google may process data in the United States and other countries; for transfers from Europe and Switzerland it relies on safeguards such as the EU–US and Swiss–US Data Privacy Frameworks and standard contractual clauses.

Your choices

• Consent: if you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform asks whether Google may use cookies and your data for advertising. Until you decide, ad cookies and personalisation are off. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised or limited ads, which can still use cookies or other data for frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention, where the law allows. You can change your choice at any time through the privacy options link on the page, or by clearing this site’s cookies.
• Personalised ads: you can turn off personalised ads from Google in My Ad Center, and from many other ad networks at youronlinechoices.eu or aboutads.info.
• Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies in your browser, or use an ad or tracker blocker. The site works without ads.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because I do not collect personal data myself, I hold nothing to export or delete; for data processed by Google or Cloudflare, please use their tools linked above or contact them directly. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or the authority in your country.

Legal basis

Where the GDPR applies, delivering and securing the site rests on my legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Ad cookies and personalised ads rest on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

The projects listed on this site, such as the app websites and the games site, have their own privacy policies. Once you follow a link, that site’s policy applies.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, for example because the site starts using a new service, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
